About Daniel
As a Civil Engineer with a PhD from Melbourne University and a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Canberra, I bring a distinctive combination of technical and legal expertise to my advocacy. Currently completing my Juris Doctor at the University of Canberra (expected early 2026), I specialise in representing clients in VCAT and the ART, with a focus on tenancy, building, and planning disputes, as well as child support matters.
With over 15 years of experience across the transport, legal reform, and land management sectors, I have held advisory roles with state and federal governments, the World Bank, and international organisations. This background equips me with the skills to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and deliver pragmatic solutions.
In tenancy and building disputes, I leverage my analytical and problem-solving skills to develop clear, evidence-based arguments that resonate with VCAT decision-makers. In many cases, my involvement has facilitated early consensus, helping parties resolve disputes without the need for a formal hearing. My experience in ART cases, particularly in child support matters, is informed by personal insight, driving a compassionate and committed approach to representation.
As an active member of engineering and legal professional associations, I remain at the forefront of policy development and legal reform. I have led initiatives such as urban-rural integration for FIG and am part of the organising committee for the 2025 FIG Working Week in Brisbane, an international event expected to attract over 4,000 participants.
This unique combination of technical expertise, legal training, and practical experience ensures that I provide clients with holistic, strategic, and cost-effective advocacy tailored to their needs in VCAT and the ART.
